As a massage therapist, you might think that the only place you can work is a spa where massages are performed on a regular basis. Although this is an option, there are other positions that you can hold as a massage therapist. One place where you can work and have benefits as well as a peace of mind knowing that you are helping someone medically is a hospital. You can work with people who have been in car accidents or who have health issues that keep them from moving in a way that is comfortable. You can also begin a career in a chiropractor’s office. There are a variety of people who will enter the office who need help with walking or sitting because of back problems. A health resort is another option. This is a different environment than a medical facility because the people there are usually on vacation.
You might work outside under a tent with sides that flow in the wind while in front of an ocean. Cruise ships are another location where you can work if you want a relaxing environment compared to an office setting. If you want to work with a younger age, you can get a job with a sports team such as college basketball or high school football. Corporate offices hire massage therapists to perform chair massages for employees who sit at a desk all day.
The number of avenues is endless, and you are sure to come in contact with a variety of people as you start your massage therapy career.
