As a massage therapist who does regular massage on their clients, it's very important for you to make sure that your clients are being well-taken care of at all times. One way to accomplish this is to ensure that all health information is received from each client before you do massage therapy on them. The type of service you give to someone specific could differ depending on their health status and any type of ailment that they might be dealing with at the moment. Having this health information enables you to provide better service and prevent any problems from happening if you do something wrong to a patient that cannot have certain massages done to them. There are a lot of health issues that could come into play when giving someone a massage, and as a business owner who is doing this as a profession, you especially need to be made aware of these problems. For example, a woman who is pregnant needs to get different types of massages and cannot lay on the massage table like a normal person would. If it is difficult to tell if someone is pregnant and they do not tell you this, you could hurt them while performing massage therapy. The same theory applies for someone who has a lot of joint or muscle issues, a bad back or someone with a lot of health problems. Another reason to obtain health information from each of your clients is to also keep yourself safe while doing the massage. If someone has an open cut or sore on their body and tells you that they have an infectious disease, the proper measures and protective equipment need to be worn by you to keep yourself safe with this particular client. It's important to act professionally and get any health information from each client you're providing massage services to at the moment.
