Massage therapists must enjoy working with their hands. Since their entire career involves using their hands to massage others, massage therapists need to like working with their hands or their career will be short lived. A good massage therapist should like to help others. People go to a massage therapist so that the therapist can help them achieve a goal; relaxation, pain relief or stress reduction. If the therapist has a genuine interest in helping their client, it will come through in the quality of the massage they give. A good massage therapist has an interest in human anatomy and how the body moves and functions. In order to give a good massage, a massage therapist must know how the body works and appropriate pressure points. Massage therapists must complete massage school in which they will take classes on human anatomy and learn where and how to massage the body. If you possess these three qualities, than becoming a massage therapist may be a good career choice for you.
