What is Aromatherapy Good For?

Aromatherapy is a system of self-care that uses essential oils for a variety of purposes. These essential oils affect the senses and cause specific reactions in the one who is using them. Aromatherapy can be conducted in at least three ways:

Oil Burning Therapy

One way that people use the essential oils is with a diffuser or burner. They buy the oils of choice and then put it on the burner and enjoy the smell. The smell then affects them in the desired manner. For example, jasmine, lavender, and lemon are three oils that one may want to smell to lift them of depression or rid them of anxiety.

Essential Oil Baths

Other people conduct aromatherapy tasks in the form of baths. They run hot baths and put a mixture of oils in the bathtub. This method usually works well for people who have athletic muscle pains and such. Peppermint, wintergreen, and rosemary are said to be some of the best oils for muscle and joint pains. The People usually just sit in the hot water and the oils and let them both work on their bodies.

Massage and Massage Therapy

Finally, some people actually use massage therapy to help people with joint conditions, back pain and so on. Married couples may use the product to give each other some sensual rubs, as well. A massage can help to clear someone's mind as well as loosen up tight muscles.

How to Get Started

If you're interested in getting started with the process, you have to create a list of the results that you want to see using the method. Are you trying to rid yourself of a condition, or do you just want to add some tranquility to your life? You have to ask of course what scents are pleasing to you and stick to those for your treatment. You can start as early as today.
