No one wants to look older than their actual age. However, the face that we see in the mirror is sometimes not the face that lies just beneath the skin. Unfortunately, there are those who are aging faster than they think. Premature aging is a problem that, perhaps, millions of people must endure. Notwithstanding a person’s genes, but there are environmental and lifestyle factors that can cause early aging. Without the proper attention to skin care, a person can look years older by the time they reach middle age. Even if your parents or other members of your family have aged prematurely, you can easily take preventative measure so that history doesn’t repeat itself. Generations past may not have been able to ward off the effects of early aging. Today’s generations have an easier lifestyle and access to skin care products that can make a major difference in their appearance. Two of the biggest culprits in making people age prematurely are the sun and the effects of smoking on the skin. High cheekbones, often hereditary, can slow down the effects caused by drooping facial tissue. People with a wide or huge grin often have nose-to-mouth lines at an earlier age than people with smaller mouths. Additional elements that can make us look older than what we are include outdated hairstyles of days gone by. Research concludes that a person’s skin, if taken care of properly throughout their lifetime, should still be relatively smooth at the age of 80 years old. Very few people attain this wrinkle-free status and are left spending considerable money and time searching for anti-aging products at the first sign of wrinkles. Proper sleep and nourishment along with a stress-free lifestyle can certainly slow down the hands of time. Today’s fast-paced world, however, serves as a constant challenge.
