After graduating from massage school, massage therapists will look to find the job that is best suited for them. Although massage school will teach aspiring massage therapists many different types of massage, it is important for massage therapists to learn them all and then specialize in a few different types. There are ten different types of massage that are popular in this country. Here are three of them:- Swedish Massage Therapy - This type of massage therapy is the most common type of massage performed in this country. Swedish massage involves the use of long, smooth strokes, kneading and circular movements with the use of either oils or lotions.
-Aromatherapy Massage - This type of massage involves combining massage therapy with one or more scented plant oils known as essential oils. Each oil is designed to help with specific needs such as relaxation, energize, stress-reducing etc. The most common oil used during aromatherapy massage is lavender.
-Hot Stone Massage - This type of massage involves the use of heated, smooth stones. The stones are place on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles. This massage is said to center the body.
