If you are a spa student, then you probably spend a lot of time thinking about the type of practice that you are going to run after you finish school. You can start a business. Keep in mind that massage therapy is not the only service that you can offer. You can start a self-care practice. There are several ways that you can start your own practice.
Make a Commitment to Your Own Self Care
Because you are getting ready to start a new career, self-care may fall to the bottom of your priority list. However, if you want to start your own self-care practice, then you will need to lead by example. You should focus on your own wellness and schedule spa treatments.
Set Goals
You should think about what you want to accomplish with your practice. You should think about your personal and professional goals. You should also set a plan for achieving them.
Choose Self Care Actions
You should choose self-care actions that motivate you and inspire you. Some people find that they greatly benefit from spending a few minutes meditating in the morning. Spending 15 to 20 minutes meditating can greatly benefit you.
Schedule Self Care Appointments
In order to commit to self-care, you have to put it on your schedule just like every other activity that you do. Even if you can only spend a few minutes per day, it is better than nothing.
Take Note of the Differences
You will likely notice an improvement in your overall health and mood after you start doing self-care. You should take note of the differences and share them with other people. If you notice the difference, then you will be more likely to keep implementing your self-care practices.
