As a thank you for a good experience, people will often tip those who are offering a service.  People tend to tip their hair stylist, nail technician and massage therapist.  The amount people tip can depend upon many different factors.

Most massage therapists expect to be tipped after a good massage.  When you perform a service that you think was very successful, you might expect to be compensated with a big tip.  Not all costumers are created equal so they amount they tip will vary.  If people don’t give you the tip you think you deserve, it does not mean that the massage was not up to par.  Some people are becoming more “thrifty” as a result of the economy and are tipping less.  In some cultures, a smaller tip is considered sufficient.   Some clients forget to go to the ATM before they get their massage and may not have the cash on them.  The list of possibilities can be endless.  There are some ways to potentially increase the amount of tip you receive.  Excellent customer service and making a client feel special can increase a client’s generosity.  Thanking your client for the tip they have given you and sending them a coupon or special offer to return can also generate a greater tip during their next session.  Be confident in your massage skills and be happy with whatever tip you get!
