Once you have graduated from a massage school you may feel like you are fully prepared to jump right into the massage industry.  If you are planning on opening up your own spa, there are certain things that you can do to create the perfect spa environment.

When people get a massage, they are not only going for the physical touching aspect, they are also looking for a serene environment.  Lighting is key in massage.  Most people prefer to have soft or dim lighting when they are being massaged.  Bright lighting tends to impact our eyes drastically and make it hard for us to relax while darkness can make some feel uncomfortable.  Finding the perfect balance is very important in a spa environment.  Sounds are another piece of massage.  Each client is different, some want music or natural sounds while others may want silence.  Be sure to have different types of music and background sounds available.  Be sure to turn your cell phone off so it does not interrupt the massage.  Temperature is another important part of a massage.  Being that your client will be naked or mostly naked, be sure to keep the room warm.  Being too hot or too cold is not relaxing.
