The Benefits of Myofascial Release

Massage in general is focused on the muscles, and unlike other trigger point therapy, Myofascial Release Massage (MRM) also acknowledges that we store tension and stress in our muscles and connective tissue, As a result, they can become locked and stiff, causing chronic pain, or joint and muscle pain, in our daily lives.
What is Myofascial Release?
Using massage, an MRM therapist begins pain treatment by identifying the affected areas in the patient’s body and then uses stretches to open up the connectives tissue and muscles that contain the stress. This therapy loosens the connective tissue, and it can relieve any condition that such tightness is worsening, which lessens the patient’s pain.
What MRM can do
This therapy provides relief from fibromyalgia, back pain and other health-related issues, and those who have been diagnosed with these conditions are often referred to an MRM specialist by their primary care physician. In addition, it is often prescribed as part of a program for managing pain, and many clients find that their condition improves as a result.
MRM is now being used successfully to treat the pains related to severe tension, anxiety, and chronic fatigue. It is also prescribed as therapy when the patient’s muscular-skeletal system has been injured by some type of repetitive stress.
Note that this therapy has been linked with lower cortisol, blood pressure and heart rate levels. While the research conducted thus far is insufficient to prove what its benefits actually are, the anecdotal evidence has caused it to gain the support of many healthcare professionals.
