Applying to a massage school can be both an exciting yet overwhelming experience. There are many things to take into consideration before committing to any particular massage school. One important thing to do when looking for a massage school is to go on a visit of the schools you are interested in attending.

While you are visiting the schools, be sure to ask as many questions as you can. If you have an opportunity to speak with a financial aid officer, this can be to your benefit. There are some questions that you should ask him or her.

- How much does the massage school cost? Be sure their answer includes tuition, fees, books, supplies and any other expenses associated with attending their program.

- How much did this school cost last year and a few years ago? School tuition will rise to account for natural inflation, however huge jumps in cost can be a red flag.

- How does financial need affect admissions? Some massage schools give a priority to students who can pay upfront for their tuition.

- What other financial support is available to me? Other than federal and state funding, look for a massage school that offer scholarships, low-interest payment plans, work-study opportunities or other pay-as-you-go options.

If you are interested in becoming a massage therapist, contact Space Coast Health Institute at 321-308-8000 to find out more about their program.
