Aromatherapy


Aromatherapy spa treatments originated in France. These oils are created by heating plant materials in fatty oils and then filtering the liquid. The large varieties of scents have different uses. For instance, lavender oil helps calm the client and imparts a sense of well-being and relaxation. Someone who desires a stimulating therapy may benefit from the use of peppermint aromatherapy. Seaweed therapy originated from European countries. The therapist begins by exfoliating your body with a scrub. This gets rid of dead skin cells. After the exfoliation, you will have a seaweed paste applied to your body. The therapist then covers the paste with hot, moist towels and leaves them in place for up to an hour. The seaweed wrap draws out the toxins from your body. It also adds minerals and oxygen to your skin while stimulating circulation. Mud Therapy


Different types of mud therapy are available around the world. One of the oldest and most famous is mud from the Dead Sea in Israel. The therapist exfoliates your body before applying a layer of mud paste. The mud contains minerals that help nourish and detoxify the body. Some of the more common minerals are iron, copper, and selenium. Other minerals include magnesium, calcium, potassium and selenium. The therapist allows the mud to dry on your body. Hot Stone Therapy


The practice of using hot stones to soothe tired and tense muscles originates from the Native Americans. This method also helps heal sore muscles. Before using the hot stones, the therapist gives you a relaxing massage. The stones are sterilized, heated, and then applied to different points on the body. This is a faster way to relax the muscles than through standard massage techniques. The therapist may roll the stones over your body in a soothing manner or she may simply let them rest on the most painful muscles. This type of therapy stimulates circulation and increases energy flow.

Sea Salt Therapy


Sea salt occurs when salt water evaporates and leaves a gritty substance. This product comes from many areas around the world, such as the Dead Sea in Israel and the Great Salt Lake. Other places that transport sea salt are the Himalayas and the Mediterranean Sea. Using sea salt as a scrub in spa therapies is quite beneficial to the skin. It removes the dead skin cells that dull the complexion. The sea salt therapy also nourishes the new cells underneath and gives the skin a healthy, revitalized appearance.
