Countless individuals suffer from roseacea, and many don’t even realize it! It is typically marked by flushing, and red pimples, that do not have a whitehead or blackhead. With the correct lifestyle and skin care products, treating roseacea can be easier than you think! Below find six simple tips for soothing your skin.

1. Mild cleansers and hypoallergenic products

If you have roseacea, you have sensitive skin. Check labels on your skin care products. You want to use a mild, non-soap product that is not loaded with chemicals that can wreak havoc on your face! Your skin care regimen should include washing your face with cold water, using a mild cleanser and drying with a clean towel.

2. Chill out!

Stress can play a major role in treating roseacea, so start relaxing. Go to a yoga class or take a walk. Listen to music that you enjoy. Your face unfortunately can feel the brunt of emotions!

3. Face masks

Some skin care product lines make face masks that can be very helpful. These types of masks can be smeared on your face at home, and then washed off. A mask can help calm redness and smooth skin.

4. Get out of the sun

Cover up your face if you’re out in the sun. Direct sun exposure can cause flareups. Use hypoallergenic and oil-free sunscreen and stay under an umbrella on the beach!

5. Laser treatments

Talk to your dermatologist about laser treatments. These treatments target blood vessels to reduce their appearance and calm down overall redness on the face.

6. Check your diet

Certain foods – and habits! – can spur on redness. For example, alcohol can be a trigger for outbreaks. Hot beverages can also be irritating, so be forewarned. Additionally, watch out for an excess of dairy and chocolate.
