Prevent Burn Out During Massage School
Posted on: April 23, 2012
Attending massage school is a great way to jumpstart a rewarding and fulfilling career in massage therapy. Although massage school is an exciting time, it is also a place where students can experience burn out. Each year, more and more on-the-job injuries are being reported. Because massage therapists and students are using their body as part of their career it is important that they pay attention to their own health and well-being from the start. In terms of massage students, the best time to deal with burn out is as soon as they begin massage school and before the burn out even begins. The first three months of massage school are the hardest because you are adjusting to your class schedule and are using muscle that you may have never needed to use before. Here are some simple tips to prevent burn out:
- Take good care of your health. Get a good night sleep, stay hydrated and take your vitamins
- Be sure to exercise.
- Eat better. Eat fresh, healthy foods in small meals throughout the day and avoid artificial stimulants like coffee and energy drinks.
