Post-Wax Skin Care
Posted on: January 4, 2013
After waxing one's delicate skin, it is critical to take care of the waxed skin to ensure smooth, non-irritated skin. There are a few steps one should take to maintain healthy, soft skin after waxing. A stable skin care routine will include many of these steps, but these are appropriate steps for skin recently waxed as well.If you purchased a wax kit and performed the wax from home, follow the post-wax procedures listed in the instructions. Then, using cool water only, rinse the waxed area and gently towel dry. Certain products, such as Aloe Vera gel or juice and essential oils, may help to prevent or relieve irritation. Rub Aloe Vera gel over the waxed area, then place an ice pack on the skin for a few moments. If you are not experiencing irritation, rub an essential oil over the waxed skin. You may use olive oil, vitamin E oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, or any other essential oil that you have on hand. If you need to leave home or dress immediately after waxing, then be sure to wear loose fitting clothing. However, it is best to allow the skin to heal before wearing clothing.
It is critical to follow the steps on the at-home wax kits to ensure the most safety to your delicate skin; however, you may still experience irritation. Use the steps above and purchase a skin hydration cream if the irritation persists.
