Massage Therapy and Music Selections
Posted on: August 7, 2013
Massage therapy is designed to help your body and mind to relax. Some say it also helps relieve your body of unwanted toxins. Whether your body and/or mind is stressed due to a tough day at work or you are going through the grieving process for a loved one, it is important to select a massage therapist with a good reputation for setting the mood, massaging your muscles and listening to what you want during the session.Music selection is one important aspect of a massage therapy session. An experienced massage therapist would have a large selection of relaxation music in his or her collection. This therapist will realize that different clients find different music relaxing. The tastes of women seem to be different than those of men. Women tend to prefer slow, ethereal music while men tend to like music with a somewhat quicker tempo. Tastes in music can also be influenced by age or your gender. That is why it's important for the massage therapist to have a balanced selection. All of the music should be instrumental with nothing that would disrupt your deep relaxation.
The massage therapist may first play relaxation music to relax and get ready to provide you with a peaceful, relaxing visit. The therapist may be getting the room ready as he or she listens to the music. When you enter the room, the easiest way for the therapist to know what best suits you in music is to ask you. It's at this point where the therapist shares the large selection of music that he or she has acquired. Tell the therapist what parts of your body you want massaged. Some clients choose to have a massage at regular intervals such as weekly or monthly. When you are there, relax and enjoy.
