The massage business is a great field to get into and many individuals are turning to it because it offers a lot of versatility. Once you graduate from massage school, you will be wondering exactly where you can go from there and what you can do. Many graduates find themselves leaning towards opening their own business. Opening your own massage business is a great idea if you are looking for freedom and you want to be able to make your own hours and focus on yourself and your individual clients. Below are some tips on starting your own company that you will find useful.

Tip #1

Always make sure you establish the services you want to offer and make sure that you can provide those services without someone else having to make accommodations for you. When choosing your services, offer things that you are confident with such as a Swedish relaxation massage or hot stone therapy. The more confident you are, the more your clients will trust you.

Tip #2

Decide between being a brick-and-mortar company or a mobile company. Some massage therapists enjoy the flexibility of being able to travel to their clients instead of operating their own facility.

Tip #3

Always make sure that you have the necessary equipment to perform your job. You would look kind of funny offering to give a massage and not having a massage table to perform the massage on. Some of the major items you need to have include: -          Massage Table -          Lotions/Oils -          Music -          Linens

Tip #4

Advertising is extremely important because no one will know you exist if they have never heard about your company. You need to make sure that you are marketing yourself well and getting onto social media to reach out to people. You can even call local businesses and offer your services at a discounted rate if the employees use you. This is an incentive for people to call your company and they will. You can also call local physical therapy companies and ask if they will pass out your business card every time a patient needs massage services.

Tip #5

Carry insurance for your company. This is important and some people never even think twice about it. Insurance will help keep you protected in the event an accident occurs while you are giving a massage. You will be protected and your insurance company will assume the liability.

Get Started

Today is the day to get started on your career and you can begin your massage business quickly. This is an exciting time in your life and opening a company is very rewarding. Remember the tips above and you will succeed.
