People enroll in massage and skincare schools to learn the necessary skills to become massage therapists and estheticians. Programs vary depending on the school, but most programs can be completed within six months to a year with classes offered either part-time or full-time. Students learn a variety of subjects, such as how to do facials, massage techniques, sanitation requirements, and anatomy and physiology.

When deciding on a massage and skincare school to attend, students should verify that the school is accredited. Most massage and skincare schools are accredited by either the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), Commission on Massage Therapy Accredidation, and the National Accrediting Commission for Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). Students who attend an accredited massage and skincare school will usually have access to a variety of federally funded financial aid programs. Students should also look for schools that have on-the-job training and career placement assistance.

Space Coast Health Institute offers a variety of programs to get students started with beginning a new career in the massage therapy and skincare profession. For more information on massage therapy and skincare programs at Space Coast Institute, contact 312-308-8000.
