Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!!!

Water: The Key to Good Health and Skin Care

Water is by far the most important molecule for life. In fact, life could not be possible without it, and many people highly underestimate its effect on the general health and wellness of the body.

Proper hydration, which would require a fluid intake measured in ounces of half of one's body weight, has health effects ranging from flushing the kidneys and bladder of unwanted bacteria to speeding up the repair of joints that have been damaged. Because of the role of water in a variety of biochemical processes, it is often difficult to accurately summarize its role, and therefore the role of being properly hydrated, with respect to health and wellness. Because of this, it is extremely important to hydrate oneself throughout the day.

One area where hydration surprisingly benefits healthy living is with respect to skin and skin care.

Many personal skin care products claim to be "hydrating" or "moisturizing", and they are able to claim this because they are actually mostly water. However, the best and quickest path to healthy living is through drinking water to hydrate the whole body.

The reason is that skin, the largest organ in the body requires a large amount of water to maintain its health. This amount of water simply can't be achieved through lotions and creams alone.

Drinking enough water throughout the day will actually help reduce common ailments. Because it is hydrated, it will remain soft and plush as opposed to dry and flakey. In addition to this, being hydrated will actually reduce the amount of oil on the skin leading to a significant decrease in acne and irritation.

The important thing to remember is that these changes may not always happen overnight. However, with enough time, everyone can achieve a better standard of living through consuming enough water!
