Goodbye to Dull Winter Skin
Posted on: April 19, 2017
Now that winter has passed, it’s time to refresh & revitalize the skin you’re in.
Dry skin is a common problem during the winter. Fortunately, the proper skin care routine can keep your skin healthy.
1. Exfoliate Regularly
An exfoliant is one of the most important skin care products that you can own. You will need to use a mild exfoliant once or twice a week. You do not want to use an exfoliant more than twice a week because this will dry out your skin.
2. Moisturize More
Because your skin is more prone to dryness, you will have to moisturize more during the winter. Oil-based moisturizers are the best for your skin. It will be easier for your skin to retain moisture if you use an oil-based moisturizer. You should seal in the moisture by using a toner.
3. Sunscreen
Sunscreen is an important part of a wintertime skincare routine. The glare from the sun can still damage your skin. That is why you should apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you go outside.
4. Hydrate
Drinking water is an another important part of skin care. You will be able to keep your entire body hydrated by drinking water, and that includes your skin. Set reminders to drink water throughout the day. Make sure that you eat foods that are high in water, such as tomatoes, celery, and cantaloupe. Eating healthy is just as important as your skin care routine.
5. Use Lukewarm Water
Hot baths and showers can be relaxing. However, they can cause skin dryness by stripping your skin of natural oils. Use lukewarm water instead.
6. Use A Different Cleanser
The skin care products you use during the winter will probably have to change during the spring.
