Fashion Make-Up Artist

Becoming a make-up artist can be a very promising and exciting career.  After graduating from school, make-up artists can work in a variety of different settings ranging from a department store to a spa.   One popular choice among make-up artists who love the fashion industry is to become a fashion make-up artist.

A fashion make-up artist is the person who does the make-up of models, actors and actresses.  Working with this clientele can be very exciting , but the make-up artist must know what he/she is doing so that the make-up looks good on the runway or on screen.  Fashion make-up artists use specific techniques that enable their client’s make-up to look good in specific types of lighting.  They may have to use bold and dramatic make-up techniques for models who are walking on the runway, but may have to use natural and sophisticated make-up techniques when working with actors and actresses on television and in film.  Fashion make-up artists work with many different clients each day.  They have to be able to create the look that is desired by the fashion designer or movie director.
