Essential Oils For Winter

The winter season can mean dry skin for many people. However, essential oils can help provide relief to dry skin through spa treatments or a massage. Essential oils for winter skin can help with redness as well as cracks that you might see.

Avoid using strong scents, such as peppermint, that is often reserved for aromatherapy. If you already have dry skin, then some of the essential oils for winter skin that you want to use include lavender, almond, and rosewood. These are mild oils that will help to create a soft barrier between the skin and the dry air. Massage the oils into the skin at least twice a day depending on how dry the skin gets.

If you're considering spa treatments, then use oils like sandalwood or cedarwood. These oils provide aromatherapy, which can relax the mind during the treatment, and keep the skin soft and moisturized.

Lavender is one of the essential oils that you can put in a diffuser that can enhance the mood during the winter months and can help to clear the nasal passages when it's inhaled. This oil is antibacterial, which can help to keep germs from spreading when it's used on the hands.

Oregano oil also has antibacterial properties, which can help to keep germs at bay in the winter.

You can use lemon oil to enhance your mood in the winter and to keep the skin moisturized. It can help in preventing cracks in the skin and keep redness from developing or from spreading on the skin.

Peppermint oil is often used in diffusers or a device that can get the scent circulating through the home. It helps to relieve some of the congestion that you might have with a cold in the winter months.
