As any massage therapist knows, one of the main benefits of massage therapy is stress reduction. While most people experience stress from time to time, tension and anxiety can reach especially high levels in the business world. Corporate clients represent a significant market niche that can help to build a client base. Although many corporate clients do visit a spa for a massage, many more would be interested in getting this service if it were brought to their location onsite. Many health programs like smoking cessation and weight control have successfully entered the corporate world to take their services to a job site. A massage during the work day could be highly beneficial to a stressed out executive or overtaxed worker. In addition, manicure and pedicure services would provide a convenient option for busy employees during a break in their work day. It would save them driving time after work or on weekends when they would rather be doing other things if they could get their manicures and pedicures before work, during a break or at lunch, or when the work day ends. Some might even tip a little more for the convenience of having these services onsite. Many offices have a break room or unused office that can serve as the massage or manicure area. Occasionally an open space can be utilized for this purpose, especially if the massages are for head and shoulders with the person fully dressed. Companies with onsite gyms or spacious restrooms might also serve the purpose. Getting a massage at work might help the attendance rate of many employees. Thus, it is a perk that some companies might be willing to pay for as an overhead cost to the massage therapist or to reduce costs for employees. At-work massages are a win-win for all.
