Many things change after a woman has a baby. One of those things is the ability to spend an hour and a half getting ready. For many new moms, finding the balance between nurturing their little one and taking care of themselves can prove to be a difficult task. However there is hope! In a few simple step using just a handful of skin care products, a mom can go from looking tired to looking fresh and ready to face the day.

1. Hydrate

The simplest way to look fabulous is to take care of your skin. No amount of makeup can cover up skin that has been neglected. Especially for newer moms, sleep deprivation can affect the quality of the skin. For nursing moms, the need for water increases even more. A simple way to ensure you are fully hydrated is to drink a glass of water before and after each meal. This can flush out toxins which cause pimples, blackheads and other causes for blemished skin. Drinking enough water is the first step in proper skin care.

2. Conceal and Powder

It is best to choose a concealer that is a few shades lighter than your skin tone. Apply it to all areas on your face that are discolored such as under the eyes, blemishes, and around the lips and nose. Using your finger to spread the product not only saves you time but it helps the product go on smoothly due to the warmth on your finger. Less products are better for a new moms easy skin care routine. Use a fluffy powder brush to apply an even, light layer of a powder that matches your skin all over the face and down into the neck area.

3. Finishing Touches

For those with fuller brows, simply brush them into a neat position. Sparse brows, can be filled in with an eyebrow pencil. Complete the eye area with 2 coats of your favorite mascara. Lipstick is the finishing touch. If you feel a bit daring, go with a brighter color. For a more natural look, a nude lipstick that matches the shade of your lips will do the trick. This routine requires a minimal amount of time and beauty products. As a new mom, you can still feel pretty in a few minutes with no stress.
