Mobile massage is an area in the massage industry that is attracting a lot of attention and many individuals are starting their own business. If you want to be your own business owner, then go for it. The economy is perfect for owning your own mobile massage business and you will have a fruitful and rewarding career. When considering starting a mobile massage business, there are some things you must know and think about before hopping right into it. These are important things that will help mold your company and help you get a successful start.

Licensing

It is important that you obtain all of the proper licenses that you need. You should have your massage therapist license and you will also need other business licenses. Depending on the state you live in, you may need to obtain a couple different licenses and meet certain requirements. You may even need to carry specific insurance and liability.

Business Plan

It is important to have a business plan in place. Without one, your company will not succeed. You can use this plan to fall back on and help you get the right start with your company. You can hang the plan somewhere you look each day to remind you about your goals and mission.

Equipment

You must have all of the equipment needed to perform your job properly. One thing that many individuals do not consider is the amount of supplies they actually need. Some massage therapists think they only need a handful of things and then they get into the industry and realize they are missing a lot more than they thought. Since this is your business and you are not going to a spa facility, you will need more than you traditionally would than when working in a facility.

Clients Location or Yours

It is important to establish where your clients will meet you to have a massage performed or if you will travel to them. Some mobile massage therapists will travel to their clients’ businesses and perform the massages there.
