Be Interested, Not Just Interesting

When getting a massage, one should have a great experience. All-too-often, many therapists will not listen to their patients. As a result, people will often not enjoy their experience to the fullest. With that being said, here are three tips for a massage therapist who wants to be interested and a good listener.
Ask questions before starting
First and foremost, when working with a patient, it’s crucial to ask him or her questions about the process. Ask them if it’s their first time. Also, ask them if they have any special concerns about the process. When doing so, a massage therapist can fix any potential issues before they even arise.
Low voice
Every so often, it’s wise to ask, in a low voice, if the client is enjoying the process. Think about it, if you have active listening skills, you can understand what he or she wants or needs. Then, and only then, you will help your cause greatly as the client will enjoy it to the fullest. Otherwise, if you don’t ask him or her anything, they may sit there in pain or not enjoy the massage.
Make them feel at ease
Finally, if you are a massage therapist, you will want your clients to feel at ease. If they don’t, they are going to hate the experience, and they are unlikely to return or tell their friends about your services. So, remember, if you have active listening skills, you are going to make them feel good about their day. With these three tips, you can help your patients feel better and enjoy the massage. Remember, they are paying good money for a massage, and you should go out of your way to make sure that they have a fun time from start to finish.
