Some of these tools may seem a bit obvious to you at first, but believe it or not, many massage therapists never even think about them.

A massage table is something that every massage therapist should have in their facility. Think about it for a second. If you do not have a table, how will you give out massages to people? The type of table you choose should be comfortable for patients and also allow them to lay on it for a long period of time. Make sure to equip every room that you plan on using for massages with a massage table to perform multiple massages throughout the day and at a time.
Massage Lotion
Massaging lotions and oils are a must have in the industry. They help your clients relax and they offer an enjoyable experience. In addition to that, the lotion and oils will help your hands move easier on the body without being too rough or getting stuck on the skin.
Music and Music Player
Music helps set a nice ambience in any massage room and will help your patients relax. You should choose music that is relaxing and avoid songs that are too upbeat. Some great choices include things such as nature sounds or waterfalls. Clients seem to like those the best and they are perfect for relaxing the mind. You also need to make sure you have a music player to play the music. The CD is no good if you are unable to actually listen to it out loud.
Calendar/Scheduling System
A calendar and scheduling system is extremely important and not many massage therapists think about it. This system will allow you to set up schedules for your employees and also clients. You will always be able to see who is open, when they are open, and how many clients are scheduled for the day. This will prevent overscheduling and stressing yourself out.
Bookkeeping Software
Bookkeeping software allows you to keep track of all of your invoices and invoices for clients. You can keep receipts here, tax information, and more. This will help you stay organized and you will always be prepared to pay your bills when they are due and know when a client’s bill is due.
