When you finish giving a massage, you can help your clients by providing a few bits of information. Here are 5 things that your clients need to know after a massage.

There may be pain

People who receive massages should know that some pain may linger. Really good massages work some of the lactic acid out of muscles. A day later, this can cause some mild pain though that pain is a good thing.

Soreness is normal

When you go through a massage, you will experience typical soreness. Your massage will work on specific muscle groups, targeting those groups for therapy. This will mean that some muscles will not feel like themselves the next day.

Take it easy following a massage

One of the most important things that happens in your massage is that certain muscle adhesions are broken down. This means that your muscles and the surrounding connective tissue will be very tender in the hours following the massage. This means that you should do everything in your power to take it easy. A smart person will get rest following a massage in order to maximize the positive effect.

Sports and exercise may do damage

If you are the kind of person who plays sports or engages in exercise, then you may want to take a couple of days off following a good massage. Strenuous exercise can lessen the positive effects of the massage. You put yourself at risk of injury when you put muscles through the ringer after they have just been massaged.

One massage isn't enough

Clients should know that only one massage will do little good. Your muscles need to be worked on continually. You should plan on getting multiple massages throughout the year if you want to continue with the positive effects that you enjoy shortly following the massage.
