Want to have fun while refining your therapy skills and getting your CEU’s? Spend 2 days with Pete Whitridge exploring the connective tissues and emotional issues that are at the root of pain. This class will offer a multi-disciplinary approach to chronic pain and improving massage therapy outcomes. In this class you will:

• Refine your touching skills and gain confidence
• Teach your clients to work with you during therapy
• Eliminate chronic pain by working below the client’s pain threshold.
• Slow down, focus your attention, and be more effective with less effort
• Receive treatments for your own self-care

This hands-on workshop will update you on current research evidence to inform and enhance your therapeutic skills. The class will focus on topics such as inflammatory response, pain science, affective outcomes, and trauma and resiliency. We will also cover proper use of thermal therapies, the reeducation of post-traumatic injury response, and functional movement patterning to encourage tissue repair and rehabilitation.

We will be exploring the unique nature of the connective tissues and practicing various manual therapy skills. We will incorporate passive and active movement assessments to test muscle function and use muscle energy techniques to reduce pain and increase range of motion. Our goal is to help clients sleep better, experience less anxiety, offer improved range of motion, and enhance mood.

Help your clients become self-reliant by teaching them to fully engage their own self-awareness and interoception. Strengthen your practice and deepen your skills. Come prepared to give and receive treatments and to have fun while learning. The intention is for you to leave renewed and reenergized about your own therapy practice.
