Do you know in the state of Florida flu season is the most prominent in the month of February? This makes February a good time to get your flu shot. Flu symptoms are rampant out there so you must protect yourself early. Massage therapists and staff must also be mindful to protect themselves from a client with flu symptoms. It's ok to wear a mask to protect yourself if necessary. In Japan, they wear masks a lot outdoors to protect themselves, while also avoiding spreading germs.

The flu is a very contagious respiratory illness that can be spread to people within six feet of each other. Adults spread the illness before they even experience any symptoms themselves. The most common way the flu is spread is through coughing and sneezing. It can also be spread by touching objects and surfaces that have been contaminated by someone who has the flu.

Don't Have A Massage While Contagious

It's best to stay home and rest while nursing the flu. I know it's hard to miss your massage but your massage therapist will thank you and so will the staff for considering their well-being. You should avoid public places as much as possible. Once you are no longer contagious, a spa visit can be very helpful to your recovery. A massage will help increase blood flow and help you heal faster. If your sinuses are full and stuffed up, essential oils and aromatherapy can be very helpful to breathe easier.

Stay healthy before you get sick. Be sure to be mindful of healthy eating, get plenty of sleep, drink lots of fluids, take vitamin C, and dress appropriately for the weather. Following these steps will do wonders for your well-being for healthy living. Then go and enjoy a nice relaxing massage!
