Facials are one of the most nourishing ways to take care of your skin. A facial treatment promotes a cleaner, younger, and more hydrated complexion. Facials reduce acne and help to remove facial scars.
A facial begins with a consultation. An esthetician, or professional who specializes in beautifying the skin, asks questions about diet, facial products, and water intake. Next, the skin undergoes a deep cleansing. A skin analysis is performed to determine skin type and conditions. For example, the skin analysis may reveal that the client has combination skin and sun damage.

To open the pores for extraction of whiteheads and blackheads, the face is steamed using a machine that directs water vapor to the skin. Exfoliation follows. If the skin is very sensitive, steaming and exfoliation may be skipped. Exfoliation sloughs off the oldest layer of skin cells and works to reduce acne scars and remove facial scars. Exfoliation is done either mechanically or with a product containing enzymes and acids.

If necessary, the esthetician will manually extract blackheads and whiteheads. Then, a mask is applied to the skin for deep cleansing. The mask is left on for several minutes. The esthetician typically massages the scalp, arms, and hands while the mask sets.Afterwards, toners, moisturizers and/or sunscreens are applied to the skin. The products used are determined during the skin analysis. After the facial, the client and esthetician discuss the outcome of the treatment as well as home care for the client. Home care includes diet and product recommendations.

Facial treatments are recommended one time per month.
